Choose your Jesus

“He replied” If you only knew what a wonderful gift God has for you, and who I am, you would ask me for some living water!” John 4:10 (TLB)

If our Creator had decided to, He could have made us incapable of sinning. That would have taken away our free will. It would prevent us from experiencing the joy that comes into our heart by serving the Master freely, not because we have to. We would be little more than robots doing what we were programmed to do. Worship would be devoid of joy and happiness.

We are free moral agents. We can choose to come to Jesus, or we can choose not to. .Like the Samaritan woman at the well, God is offering a wonderful gift to us. Those that choose to accept Messiah’s gift follow the Shepherd because our hearts, minds, and souls cry out for Him. Those who don’t choose the Savior enjoy a brief season of sin, choosing to shower in a cesspool of lust, greed, materialism, and selfishness rather than accept His blood sacrifice.

The Scriptures tell us He stands at the door and knocks. Our King will not kick the door down and come in uninvited. We are forced to make a choice; open the door, or throw the deadbolt. Let there be no trace of doubt in your heart that, unlike any other decision, this one has eternal consequences. Those making the wrong choice will realize, far too late, the repercussions of their mistake.

It is written in God’s Word that the Messiah will play one of two roles after we die. He will be our Messiah, our King, standing at Heaven’s gate, waiting to take your hand and lead you to our Father, or the wrathful judge, barring you from Paradise eternally. His sword slashes, tears, and rips through your heart and soul with the words” depart from me, I never knew you.” ring in your ear. The Lord of Hosts allows you to choose. Make the right one, today, while you still can. There might not be tomorrow for you.
