"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm, plans to give you a hope and a future. Then you will call upon and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart (Jeremiah 29:11-13, NIV).
At some point in their lives, almost everyone seeks answers and seeks truth. Why are we here? What is our purpose? Some find truth in the eastern Religions, some through another person, and some find truth in the bottom of a mixed drink or keg of beer. Some seek truth through sexual conquests. Others find truth in drug abuse or pagan ceremonies. They are all missing the mark. They can not find truth because they do not know how to seek it.
Jesus Christ is Truth personified. He existed with God, before the universe was spoken into existence. You don’t have to wash in the Ganges river, you don’t have to climb a high mountain to speak to the monk in charge of a monastery, and you don’t have go through an endless cycle of birth, death, and rebirth, trying to move up the ladder, each time getting closer to the truth.
Jeremiah the Prophet tells us exactly how to find the truth. All you have to do is seek it with all your heart. If you have tried everything, and have not found true, eternal truth in anything, ask God to change your heart. For when you seek God with all your heart, He promises you will find him and in Him, the truth so many are hungering and thirsting for today!
