“Your Throne Is Founded On Two Strong Pillars; the One Is Justice and the other Righteousness. Psalms 89:14 (TLB)
What is justice? In Webster’s Dictionary, Justice is defined as “the abstract principal by which right or wrong are defined, or the principal of moral or ideal rightness.” But what do you do with a generation who has no “principal of moral or ideal rightness.?” When it comes to moral issues, the Father has colored things like the master artist He is, but He left no shadows on His easel. On moral decisions, answers are yes/no and wrong/right.
Jehovah has set a high standard for us to meet. Our Creator has also given us His sacred Word, as a tool we can use, to help us in meeting His standards. The Son of King David’s standard is the same forever. His definition of justice is older than our planet, and His definition of justice will outlive our planet. It will be the same next year, next month, next millennium.
Just as we don’t bring the fence in because some players are having trouble hitting home runs, neither does the Master lower His standards and expectations for us. In the baseball analogy, we review the films and talk with experienced players and coaches, about what they are doing wrong, and show them how to correct it. All of us have missed the mark; we have all deeply hurt and grieved the Lord of Hosts. Let’s get out the videos, bring in the coaches, and figure out how to make the Heavenly Father proud of us again!
