”At that time Jesus said to the crowds, "Have you come out with swords and clubs to arrest Me as you would against a robber? Every day I used to sit in the temple teaching and you did not seize Me. "But all this has taken place to fulfill the Scriptures of the prophets." Then all the disciples left Him and fled.” Matthew 26:55-56 (NASV)
George Heron, a French mathematician, calculated that the odds of one man fulfilling only 40 of the prophecies about Jesus are 1 in 10 to the power of 157. That is a 1 followed by 157 zeros. So, if these are the odds for one man fulfilling only 40 prophecies: 1 in 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,
000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,
000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,
000,000,000,000,000,000,000, then the odds of one man fulfilling all 300 prophecies of Christ, would be so high that even the staunchest atheist, if he fairly evaluated the information, would have to question his conclusion that there is no God.
Our Heavenly Father’s sending of Jesus to live, and die, as an ordinary man, is the most important event in History. God wanted no confusion on this matter, it was far too important to allow any misunderstanding on this crucial event. Laying aside our Faith completely, and examining written, well documented, facts, One could only conclude Jesus was the promised Messiah, sent to pay the price for our transgressions. From his birth in Bethlehem, to his death between two criminals, Jesus is the fulfillment of prophecy. To NOT believe, in the light of such overwhelming evidence, requires a much greater leap of faith than those who believe in Jesus Christ and his payment for our sins.
