“And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.” Mark 4:37-39 (KJV)
The Apostles were scared. Events were happening that were beyond their control. They were going down! Only God could save them. They knew what they had to do! They cried out to Jesus!
When the dark clouds of discouragement are rolling our way, cry out to Jesus! When the icy, bitter, winds of our own failures blow, cry out to Jesus! When the angry, troubled, waters of life threaten to pull us down, cry out to Jesus! When our burdens become too much to bear, cry out to Jesus!
Don’t you know that the same power that saved the Apostles over two thousand years ago can still save us today?Acts 4:10-12 tell us “Neither is their salvation in any other: for there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” Accept no substitutes! Only our Savior can calm the troubled waters of our souls and stop the raging storms in our hearts!
