“Your Throne Is Founded On Two Strong Pillars; the One Is Justice and the other Righteousness.” Psalms 89:14 (TLB)
Webster’s Dictionary defines Righteousness as “acting in accord with divine or moral law.” Jehovah does not represent or stand for moral law, He is moral law. The King of Kings sets, by example, the standard by which all others must try to meet. For the Lord of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is the Law. This means Jehovah can never contradict Himself. He can never lie, because Our Creator is the very essence of truth. He can never break a promise, for He is the father of faithfulness.
These attributes of the Master are much more than “a personality trait” of Him. He demands righteousness because He is righteousness. He demands faithfulness, because He is faithful. Righteousness is the substance of what the Father is. Justice is inseparable from the God who defines it. These two pillars provide the solid bedrock that insure that, Yahweh‘s throne, and, just to the right of it, the one that the Good Shepherd reigns from, will stand for all eternity.
