“David praised the LORD in the presence of the whole assembly, saying, praise be to you, O LORD, God of our father Israel, from everlasting to Everlasting.” 1 Chronicles 29:10 (NIV)
This Thanksgiving, between the green bean casserole
and the cranberry sauce, between the pumpkin pie and
the sweet tea, don’t forget to thank the one who has
provided the home you live in, the food you are
eating, and the job that provided the money for you to
buy it all. As you watch the Macy’s parade, think of
those lining up at the mission for their turkey and
stuffing.
As you lay back in your recliner, think of those under
a bridge and huddled around a fire to stay alive.
Thank God for your warm and safe home. As you get
into bed tonight, remember those who sleep in alleys
and on steam grates, and thank Jehovah for his
goodness. And, finally, as you close the day with
Christ’s Word, thank him for the blood and the nails
that put your name into the Lamb’s Book of Life. This
Thanksgiving, don’t forget to give praise to the
Creator, for all the blessings He has generously
bestowed on us.
