The Power Of Prayer:
the Day the Sun Stood Still

"Then Joshua spoke to the Lord on the day when the Lord gave the Amorites over to the Israelites, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, be silent and stand still at Gibeon, and you, moon, in the Valley of Ajalon! And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the nation took vengeance upon their enemies." Joshua 10:12-1 (Amplified Bible)

When you pray, it is important to examine your heart. What are you praying for? Is it a selfish prayer? Are you treating God like a vending machine, drop in a prayer on top and pull your answer out the bottom?

We must also be sure what we are praying for is in line with the Father’s plans for us. You can find you’re self alone and lost very fast, even when Jesus was walking with you, only five minutes ago, if you are not praying into Jehovah’s plans.

Joshua’s prayer was pure. Joshua’s prayer was not selfish. Joshua’s prayer was in line with the Master’s plans for Israel. So He honored Joshua, and all of Israel, by answering Joshua’s prayer. Remember, Joshua had to believe God would really do it. Jesus said with enough faith, we can cast a mountain into the ocean. Nothing is impossible for the King to do, when it is asked for the right reasons, and with a pure heart.
