The Apostle and the False Prophet

"And now God has laid his hand of punishment on you, and you will be stricken with blindness. Instantly mist and darkness fell upon him, and he began wandering around begging for someone to take his hand and lead him." Acts 13:11 (TLB)

Paul and Barnabus were directed by the Holy Spirit to dedicate themselves for a "Special Assignment". They fasted and prayed and waited on the Spirit to show them what their assignment would be. How many times do we, as Christians, get the first part right, ask God about something, yet plunge ahead before He answers us? Oh, I could have avoided so many problems if I had waited on God to answer the prayers I had prayed.

Paul and Barnabus are standing before the Governor, explaining the Gospel of Jesus Christ, when the false prophet, Bar-Jesus, begins to interrupt their testimony. He tells the Governor to pay no attention to those crazy men, full of fairy tales and myths. Finally, God has heard enough. The Holy Spirit, through Paul, strikes the false prophet blind. The Governor is astonished and believes Paul and Barnabus, and their testimony about God. Now, the Governor believes these men and all their testimony!

The Holy Spirit sent Bar-Jesus into blindness. How many of us who, although we can see, are walking around in Spiritual Blindness just as dark as the blindness given to Bar-Jesus? Approach the throne of Almighty God and ask him to remove your Spiritual Blindness.
