Standing With Christ: Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani

For those of us who follow Christ, we know that we may all face that moment when we truly risk it all for what we believe, or whether we back down like a coward. The Apostle Paul went through it, as did Peter and Stephen. A perusal of the New Testament reveals many others who did the same. If your time comes, what will you do? When threatened with the cost of your very life, when the price of freedom is to spit on the very cross that saved you, what will you do? The word "hero" has lost much of its gravitas through its overuse. The qualifications for becoming one have been greatly watered down in our lifetime. The Online Free Dictionary defines one as

  1. a man distinguished by exceptional courage, nobility, fortitude, etc.
  2. A man who is idealized for possessing superior qualities in any field.
I think it is self-evident that Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani of the Church of Iran meets the definition quite well. The Pastor has earned the title of hero. According to various online media reports, including the Associated Press, he was recently ordered by an Iranian Judge to deny Christ. To deny something that deep in his heart he knows to be true. Pastor Nadarkhani is a man who has walked with Jesus Christ. For only someone who has walked with Christ would choose to risk their very life rather than dishonor his very Creator and spit upon the high price He paid to ransom our souls.

For Pastor Nadarkhani it is much more than an academic exercise, nor is it just a friendly debate. It was as real as it gets. Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani, despite being given a sentence of death by an Iranian court, refused steadfastly to change his story. Many Islamic scholars have said that if he was to change his plea to not guilty, he would be sentenced to time served and released to his family or the U.S.Embassy.

You can listen to what others say about Islam, or you can do the hard work of investigating it yourself. Now really, which do you think will produce a better result? Will it be the crap that the American media and radical Islam shove down your throat? Radical Islam has but one goal, to destroy all non-Christian nations on the face of the earth. Everywhere it goes, women are subjected to treatment lower than a slave, non- Muslims are killed, and any semblance of democracy is killed off under Sharia Law, which is sneaking in under the radar in the European Union. If you want to see what happens to non-Muslims in Muslim countries, just follow the story of Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani. It will tell you all you need to know.

Please pray for Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani. Ask for God’s hand to be upon him and his family. Help him to be strong, and to represent Christ well. He certainly has done it so far, but ask God to continue to strengthen him.
