David Phones Long Distance

"They divide my clothes among themselves by a toss of the dice." Psalms 22:18 (TLB)

It is hundreds and hundreds of years before Jesus is to be crucified. The only man in the Bible ever called "a friend of God" peers into the future, a future he can not understand. Somehow, through the Holy Spirit, David is in two places at once. He feels almost a part of the things going on in front of him, terrible things that surely can not come to pass. For he sees the Son of God, the long awaited Messiah, in great agony and pain. His mind registers the way he is held to the cross, with nails through his hands and feet. Then, he hears something that chills him to the very core of his soul. For this is the time Jesus does (or will) cry out to his Father "My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?"

His world rocks back and forth. At times, he seems to almost be a part of those terrible events occurring in his future, for he hears the mocking and cursing being directed toward the son of Almighty God! But Where is the lightning coming down to slay these mockers where they stand? Then he notices the Son of God is not breathing much anymore. As his strength drains away, the soldiers are rolling a dice, to see who gets the Messiah's clothes. Then someone spits on Jesus. Losing all sense of where he is, He grabs his sword, for he has seen God mocked enough. He didn't care what those funny looking soldiers did about it. But instead, he rolls out of bed with a dull thud. The he hears God say "My Spirit will help you to remember these things. Go at once and write them down. For this was shown to you so that others will believe when the Son of Man comes.
