"Let there be no sex sin, impurity, or greed among you. Let no one be able to accuse you of any such things. Dirty stories, foul talk, and coarse jokes, these are not for you. Instead, remind each other of God's goodness, and be thankful." Ephesians 5:3-4 (TLB)
The Word tells us that our bodies are the temple of God. But how many of us live out our faith and keep the Temple clean? How many of us live like our body is the Holy of Holies, the Holiest and Purest place in Solomon's Temple? Why are we dragging filthy, stinking sin into the Holy of Holies?
There has never been a time where perversion has been as easy to obtain. Thanks to the internet, cable television, and pay per view, the poison of pornography is easily available. Instead of having to drive to the wrong side of town and go into a creepy, nasty building we can now sit in our recliners, and surf the web in our own den, picking from among millions of web sites.
How long has it been since you cursed? Told a dirty joke lately? Your mouth was designed to lift and praise Our Redeemer, and witness to the unsaved. It was not designed to have sewage coming out from it daily. Can blessings and curses come from the same mouth? It's time to collect all the trash from the Holy of Holies. It's time Ask Jesus to help you to sanitize, disinfect, and let some sunlight in to chase away the spiritual darkness that is inside. And most important of all, please check your shoes for any sin you stepped in, and wash it off before entering into the Temple of Almighty God.
