Suffer Not the Little Children:
You Shall Not Enter Heaven except As a Little Child

“Unless you turn to God away from your sins and become as little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven.” Matthew 18:3 (TLB)

Throughout His ministry, Jesus displayed a remarkable heart for the children He came into contact with. Several times in His ministry, His disciples tried to shoo away children, as they clamored for His attention. He sternly rebuked his disciples for this, telling them it takes the faith of a child to enter Heaven.

The Messiah also warned his disciples about looking down on a child, saying “their angels have constant access to the Father in Heaven.” This shows the high importance God placed on the children, giving unprecedented access to their guardian angels. What our Savior meant was that you must have the faith of a child, trusting God, being able to trust in the things told to you, not becoming closed minded and hard hearted like adults become as they grow older, and the burdens of the world begin to weigh them down.

If you want to see Heaven one fine day, you must stop explaining away miracles. You must stop letting your unfaithfulness towards God rob you of the blessing that your loving, generous Father wants to send to you. In short, you must have the open mind and trusting hearts of little children, or you will miss the glories of Heaven. Today, you must claim the blood of Jesus, and then you may enter the Gates of the Kingdom with the heart of a child.
